The Mercedes Texas Street Festival 3 on 3 Basketball Classic will take place on Labor Day weekend September 2, 2023. It will be a featured event at the City's annual Texas Street Festival.
The 3 on 3 Basketball Classic will be an all day event. Teams will be placed in divisions based on age, gender and skill. The tournament welcomes all ages 10 and up. Co-ed teams are also welcome but they will be placed in a male division.
Awards will given to the top three teams per division.
Up to 16 teams per divisions with a two game elimination set up. All teams guaranteed three games and T-shirt.
The tournament will be held in Historic Downtown Mercedes.
The tournament is being organized by Clutch Basketball Academy, Valleywood Publications and The Care non-profit 501.C3 organization and the Mercedes Chamber of Commerce. Care has been a valuable organization that has assisted in many charitable events in the Rio Grande Valley community since 1996. Partial proceeds from this event will be given back to the community to help needy families, the disadvantage in Mercedes and the Rio Grande Valley.
Texas Street Festival
The Texas Street Festival is the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. The event will held in Historic Downtown Mercedes. Food Booths, Children Area, stages for bands for all music interests.
